✨ Skin Preparation (Important!)
For the best tattoo result, please start moisturizing the area to be tattooed a few days before your session. Well-hydrated skin makes the tattooing process smoother, less painful, and ensures the tattoo heals beautifully.
You can also gently exfoliate the area with a mild scrub to remove dead skin cells — just be careful not to irritate or damage the skin. The better prepared and nourished your skin is, the higher the quality of your tattoo will be.
Stay Hydrated: In the days leading up to your appointment, ensure you are well-hydrated. Proper hydration can contribute to better skin health and make the tattooing process smoother.
Get a Good Night's Sleep: Rest is essential for your body and mind. Make sure you get a good night's sleep before your tattoo session to help you stay relaxed and comfortable during the process.
Bring Food and Snacks: If we’re working on a full-day session, it’s very important to bring lunch and snacks so you can stay energized. Taking short breaks for food and hydration will help you feel better and make the process smoother.
Avoid Alcohol and Blood-Thinning Medications: Refrain from consuming alcohol or taking any blood-thinning medications at least 24 hours before your tattoo session. These substances can increase bleeding during the process and affect the final outcome of your tattoo.
Dress Comfortably and Be Prepared: On the day of your appointment, please wear loose, comfortable clothing — this will make the session easier, especially if the tattoo is on a covered area. Since I’ll also be taking a photo of your tattoo at the end, I recommend choosing neutral-toned clothing (such as black, white, or beige), as these photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your tattoo.
Avoid Sunburn: Try to avoid excessive sun exposure and sunburn on the area you plan to get tattooed. Sunburned skin can be more sensitive and may affect the tattooing process.
Tattoo Care Ointment: You can buy a tattoo care ointment in advance. Here are some options you can choose from:
Apply 3–4 times a day:
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
CeraVe Healing Ointment (with ceramides + hyaluronic acid)
Bepanthen Ointment (Panthenol 5%)
Apply 4–5 times a day (lighter creams):
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
Avene Cicalfate+ Cream
Bioderma Cicabio Cream
✨ Always apply a very thin layer — just enough to lightly cover the tattoo without smothering it.
By following these preparation instructions, you will have a positive tattooing experience and contribute to the best possible outcome for your new tattoo.
